November 2005
Overview
November 2005 was a month of complete contrast. The first 2 weeks of the month were very mild - 17.4C was recorded on the 2nd - and also fairly damp. The latter 2 weeks of the month were cold with 9 air frosts. The temperature on the 29th peaked at only 4.1C. Snow (albeit very light and not settling) was observed early on the 25th and during the early hours of the 27th. Hail was also observed at 4pm on the 24th. Rainfall was significantly below average again with only 30.5mm (38%). Only 1 month in the last 15 (July) has exceeded the local average for rainfall. The total rainfall for 2005 currently stands at 431.5mm. Pressure of 1037.6mb is the highest pressure that I've recorded since before September 2004; only two days later the pressure had fallen to 984.5mb which is just short of the lowest that I've recorded since before September 2004.
